Craig Gabriel

Craig Gabriel is a New Orleans–based writer, Curious Krewe original, and...by unanimous, peer-reviewed table consensus...the best question-asker in all time and space. (He won’t accept the trophy, because he’d rather ask why it matters that anyone be “the best.”)

Craig writes thoughtful, personal essays across three long-running blogs...Philo on Books, Philo on Movies, and Speaking of Everything...where stories become doorways into meaning, memory, ethics, and the wonderfully complicated human condition. He’s also the author of Prison Conversations: Prisoners at the Washington State Reformatory Discuss Life, Freedom, Crime and Punishment, an oral-history collection shaped by years of conversations with incarcerated men about crime, consequences, survival, and change. Craig brings deep listening, sharp clarity, and questions that make everyone a little more honest...and a lot more curious.
